Happy birthday, Thom!
This was taken at one of our last PRC hangouts at Suds. :) I wanted to post a picture from his last birthday, but we all didn’t look too good cause we spent a good half an hour trying to cake each other.
Thom is one of those close friends that I wish everyone had. He has all the qualities of a close friend that anyone would want and more. Thom doesn’t take anything too seriously, gives you his shoulder when you need to cry, initiates hang outs, loves his girlfriend the way any girl would want to be loved (hey, that’s when you know the guy’s a good guy!), and lastly, what I think are his two best qualities: he’s one of the most down ass niggas ever and a natural comedian. You can’t help but smile and laugh whenever Thom’s around!
We dubbed him the King of PRC cause he’s always down to hang with the group.. and he drinks the most. Hahah! Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that I’m pretty lucky to have met Thom because he was a huge part of my college life at UC Davis. And he’s definitely one of those lifelong friends that I can call family. :)
Happy birthday to my BFFer Tina! <3
We always joke about how if we never licked peanut butter together during an Alpha Phi Omega fellowship of our pledging term (three years ago!), we wouldn’t be best friends now. I never would’ve thought that we’d be good at licking peanut butter.. together, lol! Don’t judge.
I’m so glad that I got to find my best friend through Alpha Phi Omega, and then later she was a part of all my favorite memories. Whether it was being banquet chairs, family chairs, spirit chairs and pledge trainers together, being in charge of pledge retreat food, or always being there for me emotionally when I was pledge parent, she was what kept me sane throughout everything! She was the best partner anyone could ask for - always doing her share of work, if not more.
And of course, she was always the most down (aside from Thom) in Party Rock Crew. Tina was always a fun time! She would always take care of me when I got sick (which was quite often..), cook for me when I’m hungry (which was quite often too..), wipe my tears away when I was sad, hear me rant.. the list goes on and on. :)
When she moved out of Davis, I was seriously pretty upset. I felt pretty homesick (like when my sister moved back home last year), and couldn’t wait to move back home too, so I could be closer to my family and her! Even though we’re both back in the bay, she’s working full time, so it’s hard to see her all the time like we used to. But I’m still glad, I can pick up the phone whenever I want to, and we can chat and catch up like old times.
I never really got close to many girls cause I don’t like to deal with much drama and such, but Tina definitely changed my thoughts about that.
So for all you people who are still in APO, and don’t have a best friend.. be a little more open, lick some peanut butter, and find your best friend. And one day, you might get to make it official, like we did, when we won the Best Friends Award during McKenzie term. :)

Happy birthday, Daddy Qui! :)
This picture was taken almost 3 years ago during Secret Week when I pledged! I can’t believe time passes by so quickly.. I always laugh when my pledge parents tell me stories about how they always thought I would DP during the term, how they assumed I would never be active (cause I was a “bad pledge”), how they expected other of their kids to become pledge parents before me, etc.
I’m glad Qui was my pdaddy cause I couldn’t see anyone else being that chill fatherly figure in my APO career, tehehe!
