{wedding picks} chandeliers

(And whoa, I just realized… the last wedding photo I reblogged on Tumblr is from one of my wedding picks for this week on my blog.)

I haven’t made a wedding post in days.. so here goes!

  • Started my internship yesterday for Alex and Nida’s wedding! Although it’s a lot chiller than actual work, standing on my feet for 13+ hours was super tiring. I slept like a log right after I got home! What I like about my boss is that she encourages me to mingle with the vendors and lets me take photos all the time. (She’s going to quickly learn that I like taking pictures of all the details!)
  • The ceremony was held at The Ranch Golf Club in San Jose. Wowza was the view beautiful! And it was PERFECT weather - a little warm with a little breeze.
  • The floral arrangements were spot on. The combination of orchids, roses, tulips, and hydrangeas = stunning! One of my favorite details were the tulips in the vases. I think that was the first time I’ve seen decor like that!
  • After the ceremony, I had a 1.5 hour lunch break (and since the reception was in Fremont), I went to eat lunch with Chris. Funny story that he probably doesn’t want me to repeat - he was talking and then accidentally said, “When we get married…” I was like, “What?” And then he quickly responds, “I mean, if we get married…” Hahah, poor boy. I’m sure it’s not easy when your girlfriend talks about how awesome weddings all the time. ;p
  • The reception was at Asian Pearl in Fremont, woot! And I have to say… they are so quick with the turnover of the restaurant into the wedding, and then later that night, the wedding back into restaurant style for dim sum for this morning.
  • The reception area looked stunning, no joke. I assisted at a lot of weddings, but this one was pretty much the winner of all great weddings. When Alex told me, “Go big or go home,” he really wasn’t lying!
  • The reception was not open bar, but every table had a bottle of Hennessy. You know it’s a Vietnamese wedding when there are bottles and bottles of Hennessy!
  • Bumped into my pmommy at the wedding - small world, huh!? :)
  • But honestly, even though it wasn’t open bar, some of these people turned into Dramatic Drunks by 10pm. One of the bridesmaids was crying in the bathroom about how she’s not really a bad sister (to her sister). And another girl was crying outside the bathroom about how her boyfriend/fiance (?) was having second thoughts about marrying her. Chyeah…
  • The candy bar was pretty cute.. and it featured an ice sculpture! :O Too bad the background was white because it was kind of hard to take pictures of the L-O-V-E design.
  • The vendors were all super nice and fun to talk to. And the four photographers were awesome! (Once I put up pictures, I’ll probably post them. I’m sure they’ll be more fun to look at than my instagram pictures, lol!)

My boss told me that next week’s wedding is going to be super gorgeous. Apparently, the bride paid $4-5k (I know, right!?) on ONE chandelier. What!? I love love love chandeliers, so I’m pretty stoked for next Saturday!

Love is sweet. :)

One year ago today this photo was taken. I managed to keep it a secret from Jenn until I gave it to her on our wedding day 10 months later.

The photo of her opening it has recently blown up on the internet!

I considered waiting 10 years to give her the photo, but let’s be serious 10 months was hard enough.

Oh my god, so cute.
